Join us on October 4th to paddle down our first “Bring Your Own Kayak” event!
We’ll travel approximately 5 miles on Christiana Creek, starting in Michigan and ended in Indiana (tell your friends you paddled through two states). Be on the lookout for animals along the bank and fish under your seat! Because we will be out on the water, this event will abide by all points of Safety Afloat. This event is only available to Scouts and Leaders who have successfully completed their Scouting America Swimmer’s Test. All participants will sign a participation waiver at the beginning of the day and because of the nature of moving water we do not recommend this trip to be a Scouts’ first trip in a solo kayak.
Registrants should plan to bring their own kayak unless otherwise noted on your registration form. There will be limited numbers of kayaks that are available if registrants do not have their own for a small additional fee.
If you are bringing your own kayak, it is assumed that you will also be providing your own PFD. For all registrants who need to rent a kayak from Council, you will be asked to provide your shirt size so we can have appropriately sized PFD’s for you as well.
We hope to see you on October 4th for a grand day out on the water!
