Unit Swim Tests

Any conscientious Adult Leader who is familiar with basic swimming strokes and who understands and abides by the Safe Swim Defense guidelines can administer a swim test for rank advancement or Unit Level activities.
However, Leaders and Campers who plan to participate in any aquatic activity during residential summer camp should have the swim-test administered by an Adult Leader who has taken additional skills training.
When swim tests are conducted away from camp, the Camp Aquatics Director retains the right to review or retest any or all participants to ensure that standards have been maintained.

Aquatics Event Passport
The Aquatics Committee is excited to share with you a yearly outdoor programming for swimming, boating and training. With safety being a key priority, we have developed a Council Aquatics “Passport”.
The Passport card will serve as proof of a Scout or participating Adult’s swimming ability as well as a log of the various activities they have particpated in throughout the year! This will provide Scouts something to share at their various courts of honor, and allow event staff to ensure that the Scout has the best opportunity for a thorough and engaging swimming/boating event while maintining Safe Swim Defense guidelines outside of the Summer Camp season. Think of it as a year-round “buddy tag”!
Passports are waterproof and can be collected upon your pre-camp Swimming Test, or at the conclusion of Summer Camp along with your “check-out” paperwork. If you’ve already done your pre-camp swim testing for the year, see a member of the Aquatics Committee to have a Passport filled out and put in your Troop/Pack/Crew’s mailbox at the Council Offices.
