SUMMARY:National Youth Leadership Training
DESCRIPTION:National Youth Leadership Training is an exciting\, action-packed program designed for councils to provide youth members with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others. The NYLT course centers around the concepts of what a leader must BE\, what they must KNOW\, and what they must DO. The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. The skills come alive during the week as the patrol goes on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership. \nNYLT is a six-day course. Content is delivered in a troop and patrol outdoor setting with an emphasis on the immediate application of learning in a fun environment. Interconnecting concepts and work processes are introduced early\, built upon\, and aided by the use of memory aids\, which allows participants to understand and employ leadership skills much faster. \nIn order to attend an NYLT course\, a youth must have the following qualifications by the beginning of the course: \n\nMust be a registered member of a Scouting unit.\nMust have a current BSA Health and Medical Record form parts A\, B\, and C.\n Scouts BSA members  must be at least 13. They must have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops*\nVenturers and Sea Scouts (male and female) must be at least 13 or 14\, have completed eighth grade\, and fall within the maximum age allowance for their program. They must have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews or Ships*. It is recommended that they have had at least one year of camping experience. While NYLT is not an outdoor skills course\, it is important that each participant have basic camping and outdoor cooking experience.\nHave a unit leader recommendation.\n\n*ILST\, ILSC\, and ILSS can be completed within the unit and will also be offered at Camp Tamarack Summer Camp \n  \nEarly Registration is open from 3/11/2026 to 5/14/2026 at $275 for Youth. \nNormal Registration is $350 from 5/15/2026 through 7/12/2026.  Registration closes on 7/12/2026. \nClick Here to Register Today!\nAs this event is at Camp Topenebee\, all times listed are on Central Time Zone.

DESCRIPTION:Scouting America Night at the South Bend Cubs\nCalling all scouts! Join us on Friday\, August 7th as the South Bend Cubs take on the Cedar Rapids Kernals on our annual Scouting America Night!  Game Starts at 7:05pm but come in 90 minutes early to enjoy the pre-game activities! \nScouting America Night will include a ticket to the game\, in game recognition\, walk the field\, pre-game color guard presentation\, ceremonial first pitch\, post-game fireworks show. There is also an option to purchase an additional ticket to spend the night camping on the field! \nThose who opt in for the buffet will be able to eat from the Picnic Garden Buffet from 6-8pm on Friday August 8th. Please pick up your buffet wristband at the Indiana Donor Network Table Located on the concourse behind Homeplate! \nThose who opt in for the buffet and overnight will be able to participate in the post-game movie on the video board\, snacks during the movie\, camping out on the field\, and breakfast to go in the morning! Please pick up your buffet wristband at the Indiana Donor Network Table located on the concourse behind Homeplate! \nAll tickets will be assigned seats in specific section and will be sent out 2 days prior to the game date. Additional seating for the buffet will be at the top of the Picnic Garden. \nStaff / Volunteers running the table should be there 2 hours prior to game start. Gates will open 90 minutes prior to game start. \nTicket options include will be announced soon!\n\nPlease note that additional fees may be assessed for tickets purchased through the Four Winds website.
