SUMMARY:Scout Sunday 2026
DESCRIPTION:Scout Sunday 2026\nScouting America allows chartered organizations to celebrate Scout Sunday on any day in February that best serves the chartering partner. Some organizations choose the Sunday that falls before February 8 (Scouting Anniversary Day) as the date to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting. For others\, Scout Sunday is celebrated on the second Sunday in February. It is permissible for a local church to celebrate on the day most acceptable to the pastor and congregation. \nIdeas To Celebrate:\n\n\nTo celebrate Scout Sunday\, you are encouraged to wear your uniform to a worship service (church\, synagogue\, mosque)\, participate actively by serving as ushers\, color guard\, or readers\, and showcase Scouting values through flag ceremonies\, reciting the Oath/Law\, and presenting religious emblems or service projects\, all while thanking your sponsoring organization for their support. Units are encouraged to plan ahead by coordinating with religious leaders and consider adding fun activities like pancake breakfasts or displays. \nDuring the Worship Service\n\nAttend in Uniform: Wear your full Scout field uniform to the service.\nParticipate Actively: Serve as ushers\, greeters\, or gift bearers; lead prayers; read scripture; or perform a flag ceremony.\nRecite Oath & Law: Incorporate the Scout Oath and Law into readings or reflections.\nPresent Awards: Award religious emblems earned by Scouts and leaders.\nGive Thanks: Formally thank your chartered organization for their support\, maybe even presenting them with your unit’s charter. \n\nBefore or After the Service\n\nSet Up a Display: Showcase your unit’s activities with photos or a short video.\nHost an Event: Organize a pancake breakfast\, bake sale\, or chili lunch.\nStart a Service Project: Collect food for a food drive or do a project for the religious organization.\nRecruit: Set up a table to answer questions and recruit new members.\n\nPlanning & Coordination\n\nContact Leaders Early: Talk to your pastor\, rabbi\, or religious leader well in advance to coordinate activities and find a suitable service.\nCoordinate Roles: Ask if Scouts can serve in specific roles like acolytes or communion servers.\nRemember the Spirit: It’s about honoring your faith\, showing appreciation to your sponsor\, and embodying Scouting ideals.
